About An Riocht Rifle & Pistol Club

Serving the Kerry shooting community since 2007, with expert guidance, modern facilities, and a friendly, inclusive atmosphere.

An Riocht Rifle & Pistol Club

Shooting Tradition and Innovation in the Heart of Kerry

Founded in 2007, An Riocht Rifle & Pistol Club is Kerry’s only authorised centrefire range. Located in Ballyrameen Upper near Castlemaine, the club is fully compliant with Irish firearms legislation and operates under Garda and NARGC authorisation.

The range features both a 50m pistol range and a 300m rifle range, which includes a fully functional butts system. These facilities are regularly used for competitions by the Long Range Rifle Association of Ireland, particularly for F-Class events. The range’s hillside position offers challenging wind conditions and panoramic views over Dingle and the McGillycuddy Reeks, making it one of the most scenic ranges in Ireland.

Building a Strong and Supportive Shooting Community

The club has grown steadily and now has over 80 active members who regularly participate in competitions both locally and abroad. Members represent Kerry proudly at national and international shooting events.

An Riocht fosters a culture of safety, inclusion, and continuous improvement. Our members support one another, and newcomers are always welcomed with guidance and encouragement. The social side of the club is just as strong, with The Anvil Bar and B&B in Boolteens serving as the unofficial clubhouse, while Murphy’s Farmhouse nearby offers comfortable accommodation for visiting competitors.
